MPK is led by an experienced executive team with deep domain knowledge, technical expertise and industry relevance.

Chief Executive Officer

John Smith

John serves as Chief Executive Officer of MPK.

John has over 30 years’ experience in the resources, mining and oil & gas industries including being Chief Executive Officer of Silver Standard Resources, a Canadian precious metals mining company trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange and NASDAQ for five years. Prior to this role, John spent 18 years at BHP across various operational, strategic and M&A functions.

 

John is a fellow of the Association of Cost Engineers and a Chartered Management Accountant, and has a BA Business Studies and an MBA awarded with distinction from Aberdeen University.

Chief Financial Officer 

Richard Howse 

Richard serves as the Chief Financial Officer of MPK.

 

Richard has over 20 years’ financial experience in the LNG and Oil industries. Prior to joining MPK, Richard was Oil & Gas Leader and Tax Partner at Ernst & Young, Brisbane.

Before joining Ernst & Young, Richard held finance roles at BG Group, Shell, Goldman Sachs and Arthur Andersen in a variety of locations including London, Aberdeen and Singapore.

He is an Australian and UK Chartered Accountant, a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a First Class Honours degree in Applied Mathematics.

Richard Howse

Tony O'Sullivan 

Chief Operating Officer | Infrastructure

Tony serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Infrastructure for MPK.

 

Tony is responsible for ensuring the delivery of large scale Infrastructure projects across MPK’s operating segments.

Tony brings more than 23 years’ experience in the delivery of large-scale resource sector pipelines and infrastructure assets including overseeing the largest LNG gathering and transportation network in southern Queensland, and large-scale water transportation and infrastructure developments for mining projects in Western Australia and northern Queensland.

Prior to MPK, Tony was Head of International Pipelines for J. Murphy and Sons working on a variety of large-scale gas transmission pipeline projects in the UK.

Tony is President of the Australian Pipeline and Gas Association (APGA), and has a Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying from Staffordshire University.

Richard Fenton

Executive General Manager | Energy Solutions

Richard serves as the Executive General Manager for Energy Solutions of MPK.

 

Richard is responsible for leading the establishment, growth and operation of the Energy Solutions division for MPK by providing innovation both commercially and technically to the wind, solar, hydrogen and energy transmission and distribution markets, widening our existing product and service offering in the renewables sector.

Richard brings more than 26 years’ experience in the development of Energy Projects across both Upstream Infrastructure and Renewables focussing on strategy, project origination, commercial development and corporate affairs.

 

Prior to MPK, Richard worked with Worley, where he held positions leading Energy Transition and Decarbonisation Advisory Projects for government and major resources companies, as well as leading globally their Distributed Energy, Networks and Energy Storage strategy team.
